About the Journal

Kotebe Journal of Education (KJE) is a journal published bi-annually ( June and December ) by Kotebe University of Education (KUE). It publishes online and printed peer-reviewed articles on education-related subjects that focus on investigating and evaluating various educational systems practiced in Ethiopia and beyond. It also considers research findings that examine the social, economic, cultural, and political forces driving educational change and contributes its part in supporting the pillars of sustainable development.

KJE seeks to make available new evidence-based theories and understandings about the extent and nature of educational change in diverse settings. It concerns education, including formal and non-formal modes, from preschool to adult education. Its particular focus is on understanding how education and development are embedded in other activities and how individuals and collective practices are transformed through education. The journal is multidisciplinary (in education) and invites scholars from relevant disciplines, including psychology, anthropology, linguistics, sociology, communication studies, social and natural sciences, and all areas of educational research.

The journal welcomes researchers who aimed to:

  • contribute new instructional methods to improve students’ learning;
  • describe educational systems, processes, and outcomes;
  • help in the development of educational institutions at all levels and practices all over the world;
  • establish knowledge about education that is valid throughout the world;
  • presents curriculum designs, studies, and development
  • reveals the role of the Indigenous knowledge system in modern education

The journal hopes to contribute to these aims to bring research and knowledge to the broadest possible audience in both developed and developing worlds.
